Electronics & Components
The performance of an LED luminaire is determined less by its housing than by the electronics inside: the LED module, the driver and how heat is removed. We select and design these three parts for each luminaire according to the project.
We do not just assemble off-the-shelf modules; for custom-shaped luminaires we manufacture the LED module to the shape of the housing. The module in the photo was made for a curved luminaire housing.

What we do
- LED module (PCB) design
- Aluminium and FR4 printed circuit boards are designed for the luminous flux and thermal needs of the project; LED layout, current and lens selection follow the luminaire housing. For curved or narrow housings the module is made to fit the shape.
- Driver integration
- Constant-current and constant-voltage drivers are selected for the luminaire's wattage and control system and integrated into the housing. Flicker-free drivers matter in offices and spaces where video is recorded.
- Thermal design
- LED lifetime depends on operating temperature. Heatsink and housing cross-section are sized so that the LED operates at a temperature that preserves its 50,000 h (L80B10) lifetime.
- Emergency kit integration
- A 1 or 3-hour emergency kit can be added; during a power failure the luminaire keeps running on battery. The kit is chosen for the luminaire's voltage and wattage.
Control and dimming options
The right system depends on the building's automation and use. Detailed comparison: DALI, KNX and 1-10V guide.
| System | Type | When is it preferred? |
|---|---|---|
| DALI | Digital, addressable | Each luminaire is controlled and grouped individually; preferred in offices, hotels and building automation. |
| 1-10V | Analogue | Simple and economical group dimming; common in industrial areas and shops. |
| Switch DIM | With the existing switch | No extra cable; a short press switches on/off, a long press dims. |
| Triac (phase cut) | Residential dimmer | Works with an existing wall dimmer; suitable for homes and small commercial spaces. |
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between constant-current and constant-voltage drivers?
A constant-current driver supplies a fixed current (e.g. 350–700 mA) to the LED module and is used in spotlights, downlights and linear luminaires. A constant-voltage driver supplies 12 V or 24 V and is used with LED strips and concealed lighting profiles.
Can DALI be added to my existing luminaire?
In most cases the luminaire can be converted to DALI by replacing only the driver. Whether there is enough space in the housing and a suitable LED module is checked per product.
Can an emergency kit be fitted later?
Yes; by choosing an emergency kit that matches the luminaire's operating voltage, an existing luminaire can be converted into an emergency luminaire.
For ready-made emergency kits: emergency conversion kits.
