How we work

Brief and survey
We review the function of the space, its users, ceiling height, architectural drawings and any existing lighting, and agree on target illuminance, colour temperature and control requirements.

Illuminance calculation
Using lighting calculation software on the architectural plan, we calculate average illuminance (lux), uniformity and glare (UGR) for each area and compare the results with the targets of standards such as EN 12464-1.

Luminaire selection and layout
Luminaire type, wattage, beam angle and quantity are determined from the calculation, and luminaire positions are marked on the plan.

Energy and cost comparison
Alternative solutions are compared by installed power, annual energy consumption and number of luminaires.

Control scenarios
Where needed, dimming, scenes and sensor scenarios are planned with DALI, 1-10V or Triac.

Installation support
Technical support is provided on positions and connection details during installation; target values are checked after commissioning.

Design and products from one source
We manufacture the luminaires recommended in the calculation in our facility in Beylikdüzü, Istanbul. Because wattage, colour temperature, beam angle and control can be adapted to the project, the calculation and the result on site stay close to each other.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a lighting design?
A lighting design is a technical study that shows, through calculations and drawings, which luminaires are installed where, in what quantity and wattage, and what illuminance, uniformity and glare each area will achieve with that layout.
When is lighting consultancy needed?
It is recommended for new buildings and refurbishments, LED retrofits of existing lighting, when energy consumption needs to be reduced, when users complain about eye strain or glare, and when compliance with standards has to be documented.
What information is needed for a lighting design?
Architectural drawings (preferably DWG or PDF), ceiling height and type, the use of each area, interior colours and materials if available, and the desired colour temperature and controls. Without drawings we can start from dimensions.
Which standard are the calculations based on?
EN 12464-1 for indoor workplaces, EN 1838 for emergency lighting and EN 13201 for road lighting. The target illuminance, uniformity and glare for each area are taken from these standards.
What is delivered at the end of the project?
An illuminance calculation report per area, the luminaire layout on the architectural plan, a luminaire schedule with technical data, and an installed power and energy consumption summary.
