48 V Magnetic Track and Accessories

48 V magnetic track is the low-voltage track system for the Lyra series magnetic track luminaires. Three track types are available in 1, 2 and 3 m lengths: trimless (before plasterboard finishing), spring-clip recessed (after finishing) and surface; all three take the same luminaires and connectors. In-track drivers (50–300 W), a smart dimming driver and a remote driver, on/off and DALI connectors, horizontal and vertical corners, a suspension kit and remote controls complete the system.

1-10V is the lowest-cost analogue method, dimming all luminaires on a line together. DALI (IEC 62386) is a digital protocol that can address 64 luminaires on a line individually and receive status information. KNX is a building automation standard that manages lighting together with heating, blinds and security systems. 1-10V suits small, budget-focused jobs, DALI offices, hotels and shops, and in integrated smart buildings KNX as the upper layer is combined with DALI as the lower layer.

  • Showroom Lighting: Car, Furniture and Ceramics Showrooms

The aim of showroom lighting is to show products in their true colour and form, and to change the light as the layout changes. General lighting is even and glare-free, products are accented at about 3–5 times the general level, with CRI 90 or higher and 3000K–4000K depending on the product; track spotlights and DALI scenes give flexibility.

  • What Is Accent Lighting and How Is It Applied in Spaces?

Accent lighting is the lighting layer that makes an object, artwork or architectural detail stand out by lighting it at least 3 times more brightly than its surroundings. It is usually applied with narrow-beam track spotlights, adjustable recessed spotlights and wallwashers, aimed at the object at an angle of 30°–35°.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between trimless and spring-clip recessed magnetic track?

Trimless track is installed before the plasterboard is finished; its wings disappear under the plaster to leave a frameless line. Spring-clip track is held by springs in a slot cut into a finished ceiling, leaving a slim 8 mm trim.

Where does the magnetic track driver go?

In-track drivers sit inside the track and need no separate box; 50, 100, 200 and 300 W versions are available. The remote driver (200 and 300 W) goes in the ceiling void or a panel and connects to the track via the power feed.

How does magnetic track turn a corner?

With the L corner or vertical L corner for the track type; a flexible connector inside the corner carries power from one track to the next.
